ed+u curriculum

Welcome to ed+u by Cafe Imports, a new coffee education platform created for both students and trainers.

Education is essential for any role in the coffee industry – an industry that spans the world, has a deep history, relies on nature, and constantly evolves. Comprehensive coffee education doesn’t currently exist without paying for access, working for a company that can provide it, or spending hours self-researching.

The goal of ed+u is to create a robust, up-to-date, fact-based curriculum that dives into each step of the supply chain, releasing it to the public free of charge. For new coffee professionals and enthusiasts, we hope to provide a clear route for growing their coffee knowledge. For seasoned professionals, a source for strengthening your own training program and teaching skillset.

This curriculum will be a constant work in progress. Classes will be released and updated as they are prepared. The release materials for each class will be:

  • Live and recurring webinars taught by Cafe Imports educator Dylan Siemens.
  • Recordings of past live classes.
  • Live and recurring Train-the-Trainer webinars designed to give educators the tools to teach the class.
  • The presentation file for each class.
  • A supporting document designed for educators that outlines each presentation’s slides.
  • A written form version of each class that develops into an encyclopedia of information as more and more classes are released.

ed+u is named for the idea that all of us in the supply chain are vital to coffee’s thriving, but we all must learn to thrive in coffee. A stronger education for the industry only creates a stronger industry. We hope ed+u will be a source for learning, teaching, and growing together.
